How does the Clinical questions feature work?

This feature is an online, non-urgent consultation between a doctor and an established patient. It combines the advantages of an office visit with the convenience of asynchronous communication (Asynchronous communication is communication taking place at different times or over a certain period of time—i.e., email communications.). A nurse or other clinical team member can triage and prepare responses to online communications as they would for office visits or telephone calls. In addition, the contents of their online communications are available for review by both doctor and patient at any time. -back to top-

Is PKImedmail.com / Mymedicalmail.com service secure?

VHN uses the highest level of security to protect the privacy and confidentiality of health care information transmitted through its physician-patient online communications service. Unlike e-mail, which relies on multiple servers distributed across the Internet, VHN uses a single, centrally managed database for all doctor-patient communications. All messages are delivered to a Web browser using state-of-the-art, 128-bit, secure-socket layer encryption, and can be read only by the registered doctor, the doctor's authorized staff, and the patient. -back to top-

Messages are never stored anywhere but on the secure Virtual Health Networks, Inc. server, and they cannot be read en route, deleted, copied, or altered in any way. The service requires the use of Digital Certificates, by the Physician, with a log-in names and password, and can only be accessed by registered users. Patients using the service can view an audit trail of who has accessed their medical profile upon request. -back to top-

Isn't online communication too time consuming for physicians?

To date, many physicians have resisted e-mail as a communications vehicle with patients, viewing it as potentially time consuming, disruptive to their normal workflow, and increasing their liability. In fact, PKImedicalmail.com is as easy to use as e-mail, generates revenue using a backend infrastructure that allows you to charge for services and get paid for services that you now give away. So rather than gattery back to patients by phone. You can generate income by clinical mail service. -back to top-

Why do you need my hospital information?

PKImedmail.com offers Gateway Services that will allow you to transmit your patient health information with your hospital. We need to know what are the hospitals with which you do business so that we can set up partnerships for these communications. This is for the S/MIME gateway SMG, the protocol that many hospitals use to communicate with its Physician Community. This protocol SMG has become the industry standard and is endorsed by the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium and is HIPPA compliant.

First, by developing a practice pattern that supports digital communications vs. a telephone communications option. Let’s take a look at the financial of a digital communications focused practice: with an average of ten emails per day 5day/week at a fee of $16.00 for each, adds up to $3,200 per month revenue without incurring any additional overhead. Of course this anticipates approximately 200 of your patient base or 10 percent participates in this new service. Further, for each 90 day prescription you fill, we will reimburse you a fee paid monthly. -back to top-
